Developing New Technologies - M Joseph

Mostly   our   students   and   teachers   are   users   of   the technologies   innovated   by   other   countries   rather   than   technology developers and showing great interest in learning new technologies so as to get placed. Technology development has lot of merits such as job creation, revenue and to a greater extent national income will   also   get   improved   apart   from   its   societal implications.        Invention   of   the   Dubbing   Technology   could   only   pave   the   way   for the doyen in Tamil Cinema M.G.R, to act in cinemas as hero, as it helped   him   overcoming   his   inability   to   sing,   in   spite   of   his cinematic   charisma.   Those   were   times   Tamil   actors   should   posses singling   qualities   to   become   hero/protagonists   in   the   music dominated cinemas, due to restrictions of the then available audio recording facilities. On the other hand career of the then super star,   probably   the   first,   M.K.

No more Teachers but Counselors Needed - M Joseph

When my friend was a Professor, in a private Engineering College at Coimbatore, there was one student Mr. L, doing B.E., who had (I suppose) a love affair with a girl studying in the same college. Accidentally, He happened to see him with his girl friend in a very close proximity. He called him and inquired. Though, initially he refused to accept the affair, and finally pleaded sorry. He shouted at him as it was the time for his semester exams and asked him to bring his parents to meet him and stood by his decision to make him more concentrated towards studies, in spite of his requests for not informing the matter to his parents.      Later in the evening, when he was driving my car from the hospital, He got a call, informing me that Mr. L, attempted to commit suicide and was rushed to the Hospital. He was heart broken. He rushed to the hospital and came to know that he was out of danger, by God’s grace. It took him around one month to return back to my normalcy after solving al

A Love Poem (Free Verse), you will Laugh - M Joseph

They all make fun of me, while you pass by, treating you as my lover. It makes me feel so happy and I often long for such funs only. We get married on a Friday during the mid of a May, in my village’s church. We walk together with our hands united in the marriage procession, as they play joyously the native music before us. We go for a hillstation for our honey moon. We lay together, as melodies of Raja lull as to sleep. You ask for my forgiveness for your laziness throughout our life. You also talk about our children and the names going to be kept for them. We go for a banquet to a village house, a day after our honey moon. I dream of dancing with you as the Westerners dance in parties. The proud of being my wife glimpses through your eyes. I am fond of such thinkings only as heart pours down the love on you, I also think that You shoud, somehow, come to know about on being loved by me.

Tamil Characters: Personalities, Politics and Culture – Book Review - M Joseph

Generally the history of India ends with the Independence of India. The famous Indian historian  Ramachandra Guha emphasizes the need and importance of writings on the post colonial history of India in one of his interview or article. He specifically  mentions C.N Annadurai. Towards that historian A.R. Venkatachalapathy’s book, Tamil Characters: Personalities, Politics and Culture, published by Pan Macmillan India, 2018, makes a valid attempt to record the history of post colonial Tamil  Nadu, though peripherally.      The Tamil personalities like Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, C.N. Annadurai and the like and other historical events pertinent to Tamils and Tamil Nadu, with due recognition  along with their contribution are well presented in this book. Books on such kind will give deeper insight into the post colonial  history of Tamils and Tamil Nadu to the International community.      I was very much surprised and shocked to see the book which does not have any references and foo
